Job Summary:
The Welder I is responsible for safely performing a variety of duties in all weld areas and refinishing Stainless finish hoods, using manual, semi-automated, and fully automated processes as developed.
We are looking for a candidate to work Monday through Thursday 2:30PM - 12:30AM but provide flexibility on days/hours/time worked for eligible individuals. Individuals will be evaluated for eligibility after 90 days of consecutive employment. Additional information would be provided on the ‘Flexible Shift Program‘ upon interview. For 2nd Shift you‘d be eligible for a 15% Shift Diff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of weldments, which may involve a variety or number of parts where assemblies may be clamped or involve holding jigs and fixtures to maintain tolerances.
- May recommend jigs and fixtures are built to hold work in place.
- Determine number of welding points and contact cycles.
- Regulate current and set automatic timing cycles.
- Rig equipment for holding and positioning work. Change and dress electrodes.
- Instruct others, inspect quality, and assist team members. Use rule, scale, and fixed gauges.
- Operate all forming equipment to shape and form a variety of parts following prescribed and standardized methods.
- Visually inspect pieces and check parts with templates and/or blueprints to ensure proper fit.
- Review process sheet and fit, align and assemble manufactured or purchased parts, motors, and sub-assemblies into completed units, make necessary electrical connections. Visually inspect for fit and surface complications. If the unit does not conform to specifications, repair or return for rework. May require partial disassembly.
- Test unit for proper operation and insert in packing containers or cartons. Mark container with type, style, color, and model number.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, process sheets, and instructions to assemble a variety of standard products. Methods generally prescribed or established.
- Use required hand and air powered tools, measuring instruments and gauges. Final assemblies are subject to further inspection and check. Instructions given on a new or non-standard unit.
- Participation in Lean manufacturing principles, ‘5S‘, Daily Stretching & SQDCI meeting, along with Continuous Improvement.
- Willingness & aptitude to work in multiple production department on an as needed basis, including but not limited to: Weld, Wolf Pro Line, Can-3, Stainless Hybrid, Stainless Finish Graining, and Paint.
- May assist with set ups. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work from drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and shop instructions.
- Demonstrated proficiency working in multiple areas of manufacturing/production.
- Requires ability to do basic mathematics, set up equipment, run forming equipment, and ability to run a spot welder.
- Ability to visually inspect pieces and check parts with templates and blueprints to ensure proper fit.
- Advanced understanding of QAS (Quality Acceptable Standards) to visually identify quality defects in the graining process.
- Requires an ability to do spot welding.
- Requires the ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to continuously lift, carry and stack parts weighing up to twenty pounds throughout the shift.
- Able to frequently stack and unstack parts on loads up to 75 inches high.
- Ability to frequently stack and maneuver large pallets (44‘X 65‘)
