Packaging Assistant Supervisor

Serve as the department’s back up leader supporting the primary functions of the day to day operation. This role serves as a training opportunity for career growth and training to be a future leader. You will be an integral part of enhancing the team and company culture of providing a great place to work while producing products everyone is proud of. To be successful in this role you need to have a high desire to drive efficiency improvements and support the supervisor in moving the team and company forward.
As the assistant supervisor the individual will be able to effectively run the department while the supervisor is off the floor whether it be on VIP time or while they attend a meeting. In this role you will gain valuable experience and training, which builds the bench strength of the organization. In the absence of and/or in coordination with the supervisor you will be able to perform production scheduling, operate vats/machines, train team members, schedule personnel, perform discipline, accountability to performance, assist with reviews, and lead shift meetings.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist supervisor with day to day operations.
- Production and Personnel Scheduling.
- Operate and able to troubleshoot all departmental equipment.
- Work with Supervisor on adherence to plan, personnel review and discipline as necessary.
- Lead Shift meetings.
- Own and maintain production boards updated with key performance metrics.
- Work with Hard Cheese Packaging Supervisor to complete all tasks within the production areas. These items include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist Supervision: oversee daily operations and direct team to ensure all tasks are being completed on time and accurately.
- Production: assisting with all production runs and documenting all steps in make procedure to ensure accurate, consistent, safe, and quality products every time.
- Product Movement: properly receive product and document goods in accords with required policies.
- Sanitation: keep a clean work environment. Wash, rinse, sanitize and return all equipment back to its designated area immediately after done using. Complete time of use, daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly sanitation scheduled responsibilities along with documentation once work is complete.
- Follows all policies and procedures LaClare Creamery has implemented regarding food and personal safety to assist in maintaining a safe work environment and safe quality products at all times.

- Own and drive personal development through attending leadership and/or lean training.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Lift - be able to lift 50+lbs continuously, stand for 8 hours/day and occasionally twist, bend, climb, grasp and other repetitive movements.
- Flexible to various creamery environments including unloading, making, painting, packaging, aging, and shipping.
