- Possess exceptional writing, analytical and legal research skills as well as the unique communication and interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, the courts and financial institutions.
- Manage case progression
- Develop strategy and participate in strategy discussion.
- Determine priorities and identify issues.
- Review and edit paralegal drafts of probate documents for formal probates, informal probates, guardianships and conservatorships.
- Draft substantive complaints, motions, oppositions, correspondence and other pleadings for contested matters.
- Research and prepare accompanying memorandums for various probate issues.
- Draft and respond to interrogatories, subpoenas and document requests.
- Attend meetings and court hearings.
- Draft estate planning documents, including but not limited to, wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies and irrevocable life insurance trusts.
