We believe caring for cancer patients is a privilege.The Senior Staff Accountant will report to Tennessee Oncology's Controller. The position will be based in Nashville, TN and is responsible for multiple accounting functions. The candidate will have a proven record of leadership, technical expertise, and proven results. This position is filling a key role with the company and accounting function, with primary focus on the execution of departmental goals and objectives. This role is a highly visible role and will regularly interact with members of the executive management team.Essential Functions:Execute departmental goals and objectives, including day to day assignments, strategic initiatives, and process improvementParticipate in month-end close process including review and analysis of underlying financialsReview monthly financial for completeness and accuracyPreparing and reviewing ad-hoc internal and external financial reporting and analysisProvide coaching and development opportunities for team membersCoordinate timely preparation and review of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and financial reportingAid in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processEvaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual result with plans and forecastsAid in the completion of the partnership tax return and partner K1 preparationCollaborate with outside audit, working closely with independent accounting firm and providing all requested deliverablesResearch complex accounting issues, document via accounting position papers, and develop policies and procedures to implementIdentify areas of process improvement, recommend changes, and execute improvementsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Proactive & driven leaderStrong technical accounting knowledge (business combinations, revenue recognition, etc.)Ability to manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completionDisplay a detail-oriented approach to daily activities and a self-starter attitudeAbility to work in a cross-functional team environment and lead cross-functional initiativesAbility to effectively collaborate, works with a sense of urgency, and prioritizes tasksDemonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentEducation & Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience w/ Big4 background (Preferred)Proven knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and SEC regulationsKnowledge of internal controls, best practices, and the ability to research and document accounting and financial topics requiredStrong excel skillsMaster's degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred)Active CPA license required (Preferred)Physical Requirements:Physical Activity RequiredAmount of TimeNoneLess than 1/3 (Occasionally)1/3 to 2/3 (Frequently)More than 2/3 (Regularly)Standing XWalking XSitting XFingering or manual dexterity XRepetitive finger motion XLifting or exerting force Up to 10 poundsUp to 25 pounds XUp to 50 poundsUp to 100 poundsOver 100 poundsReaching or stretching XClimbing or balancing XCrouching or stooping XSpeaking XHearing XSeeing (with correction) X
