The People Operations Specialist is a key HR role focused on enhancing employee experience, implementing HR policies, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department with a tech-savvy approach.


This position is dedicated to ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. It plays a crucial role in enhancing the employee experience from onboarding to offboarding, implementing human resource policies, and maintaining HR data and systems.

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process including maintaining accurate personnel profiles in HRIS, collaborating with IT, and managing personnel changes via Jira ticket system
  • Process employment verifications, unemployment claims, and EI-9 process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel records, including changes in salaries, benefits, and personal information. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries on HR policies, benefits, and workplace issues, ensuring a timely and empathetic response
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle new hire enrollments, COBRA administration, life events approval, and perform monthly billing audit
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, time off, and personnel changes)
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies
  • Support ad hoc HR initiatives, including company events, and teammate recognition
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Specialist or other HR role partnering with all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proficiency in using ADP WFN
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state HR regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized thinking, and ability to handle multiple and constantly shifting priorities
  • Experience working in a variety of modalities (i.e. in-person, remote, out-of-State, etc)
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all HR practices and policies
  • Desire to learn and continually improve, and to help others do the same
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship building with excellent written and verbal communication skills
