Job Description:

The Programs Summer Associate will play a key role supporting HGHI’s Undergraduate Student Engagement initiatives and the execution of the strategic projects summer portfolio. Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs, this role will assist the implementation of HGHI 2024 Summer programming, supporting communication with the community at Harvard, and providing guidance to student interns with HGHI global partners.

Primary responsibilities include:

Summer Internship Program support: plan, schedule, coordinate, and attend a weekly guest lecture by faculty/professionals in global health. Assist students in the residential Research in Global Health program in preparing for their final poster presentation session at the end of the program in August. Manage correspondence and serve as point of contact to student interns working with global health partners.

Events & Communication: in collaboration with colleagues, organize public-facing in-person and virtual events. Assist in the redesign of public-facing newsletters and draft public-facing materials.

General Administration: Assist in document management, scheduling, correspondence drafting and management, and other administrative tasks to support the delivery of programs.

Events will be a mix of in-person and virtual, so being able to come in-person to some events is important.


Qualifications:

Master students with research experience preferred

Experience in program administration required.

Prior experience working with undergraduate students is a plus

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with careful attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exhibit sound judgment.

Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting diverse constituents.

Prior experience working with other Harvard departments strongly preferred.
