Job Title: Facilities Engineer Contract Duration: December 9, 2024 June 8, 2025 (6-month contract with potential extension) Location: Houston, TX Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week Job Overview The Facilities Engineer will support the Facilities Engineering Team in the Houston, TX office, reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager for Emissions Compliance within the USON Facilities Engineering & Construction department. This role focuses on the design, execution, and compliance of facilities projects to meet safety, environmental, and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, environmental, regulatory, safety, and contractors) to evaluate and execute projects effectively. Manage, track, and report on multiple projects to meet safety, budget, and schedule objectives. Design and coordinate modifications for closed-vent systems to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with technical, maintenance, and operations personnel to address recurring leaks and evaluate new technologies. Develop cost estimates, execution plans, design basis documents, and AFEs for project approvals. Coordinate construction drawings and RFQ packages with third-party engineering firms, foremen, and operations personnel. Ensure proper approvals are obtained through management of change processes. Conduct facility walkdowns to identify and implement process improvements aligned with production and zero-emission goals. Lead pre-start-up safety reviews to facilitate a seamless handoff to operations. Size and select production equipment, including vapor recovery units, vapor destruct systems, vent piping, and related components. Troubleshoot and provide operational support for facilities to ensure efficient performance. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelors degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum of 7 years in facility design and construction within the Oil & Gas industry. Proficiency with surface equipment, process conditions, and safety systems for Central Tank Batteries (CTB) and Central Gathering Compression (CGC) installations. Strong computer skills, including MS Teams , Excel , Word , and Outlook . Familiarity with modeling software such as Aspen Hysys, ProMax, and PipeSim is a plus. Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ASME BPV code) for upstream operations in Texas and New Mexico. Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired. Willingness to travel to field locations in Texas and New Mexico as required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Skills Experience sizing production equipment, including tank capacities, vapor recovery units, combustors, flares, and vent systems.
