The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Construction Teacher position. This position is based out of Racine Correctional Institution (Sturtevant, WI, Racine County).

Position Summary
This position will develop and implement a program of professional educational services in Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3)to students in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs. They will also complete all required documentation of student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements in a timely manner, monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffing and meetings and serve as an effective interdisciplinary team member.This teacher will provide training to others and engage in specialized instruction and projects upon request.This teacher will serve as a student advocate. The teacher shall comply with the department’s administrative rules and the agency’s policies and procedures including those related to the department's overall reentry philosophy of using evidence-based strategies, practices and programs which target an inmate’s individual criminogenic needs and risk level.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range (13-04) with an annual salary of $25.97 - $31.82, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.A probationary period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Remote work is not an option for this position.
Qualifications
Special Requirements: (All three required)
Journeyman or Master’s License in one of the trades Minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment. High School Diploma.-
