Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Teen Services Specialist Position. If you have a background working with teens, creating programs and special events, supervising volunteers, and like to problem solve, this could be the position you've been looking for. Communication, solving problems, adapting to changing situations, thinking critically, and working collaboratively are key characteristics of a successful candidate. This position requires continual direction and oversight of Teen Services programs.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):

PRCS, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities will include: Develops and manages a marketing plan to promote programs; produces flyers, news releases, direct mail, newsletters, advertising, and web information; and ensures staff are provided information about programs. Develop program evaluation standards, methods, and tools; incorporate evaluation data into future program planning. Works directly with the Youth Initiative Specialist in support of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) programs. May develop and manage program budget. May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.
*The work schedule varies according to operational hours and may include weekday, evening, possible holiday, and weekend hours. This position is eligible for teleworking after meeting division eligibility requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years directly related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelors degree in education, Parks and Recreation, or a related field.
At least six months experience with RecTrac or similar system
Experience working with middle school and high school teens for a year (1). 

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo Criminal background check, credit, Fingerprinting, Child Protective Services (CPS) and DMV checks. For a DMV check, a valid drivers license and good driving record are required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). TB test within 30 days of hire;  Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications at hire or within four (4) months.
