Social Work :

This position serves as the Social Worker Program Coordinator for the Ambulatory Mental Health Clinics located on the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). CAVHS is a complex 1A facility operating across multiple sites including two main facility campuses, eight CBOCs and tertiary service delivery locations including the Vet Center and the Veterans Day Treatment Center among others. The CBOCs serve as the primary location of outpatient mental health treatment in CAVHS including facilitating access to Mental Health Services through the provision of both diagnostic and treatment services to outpatient Veterans within the CAVHS catchment area. Additionally, the CBOCs serve as referral sources for specialty Mental Health Programs, including acute psychiatry, residential rehabilitation treatment, homeless programs, and specialty Mental Health Services.
The Social Worker Program Coordinator oversees all clinical operations and is the final authority for the program's organization, direction, and general patient flow.

Administrative Duties:
- Implements and manages of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Team (BHIP) model within the CBOCs
- Works closely with the MHS Program Analyst to analyze clinical data related to wait times, clinic utilization, clinic cancellations, and no-show rates (NIRMO Report) and develops strategies to mitigate outliers and low performance areas.
- Works with the CAVHS Group Practice Manager (GPM) to resolve administrative issues impacting consult completion, wait-times, scheduling, and clinic access.
- Monitors the completion of daily encounters and addresses encounter delinquencies and Electronic Medical Record charting deficiencies.
- Serves as the subject matter expert and final program-level authority on CBOC MHS operations, interdisciplinary and support personnel staffing, fiscal matters pertaining to operations, clinical programming and practice model implementation.
- Evaluates program needs and collaborates with other CBOC leadership to develop budget proposals on a yearly or as needed basis as appropriate.
- Collaborates with the ACOS of MHS, the Deputy ACOS Psychiatry Lead, the MHS Quality Manager, and the MHS Program Analyst to achieve program goals and desirable productivity measures that impact workload and clinical productivity.
- Ensures that clinical staff follows policy guidelines related to scheduling, appointment types, slot length, and VistA clinic profiles as defined by VA, Chief of Staff (COS), and Strategic Management Services (SMS).
Clinical Functions:
- Provides Advanced Directive information and education including but not limited to the following: Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care, Living Will, Health Care Directive, and/or treatment preferences document to Veteran and families. Also assists the Veteran in preparing such documents, as requested. Assists the interdisciplinary team with identifying appropriate decision makers if Veteran is unable to make own decision (Next of Kin, HCPOA, Legal Guardian). Facilitates advanced care planning group visits with Veterans and support system (as appropriate).
- Performs comprehensive suicide risk screenings and assessments and develops and integrates safety planning and safety goals into the Veteran's collaborative, individualized treatment plan.
Non-Clinical Functions:
- Supports the mission, policies, and procedures of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), the appropriate Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), and the facility.
