First Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Minimum Job Requirements

• Physical- Proficient in using a PC keyboard.
• Working Hours- Fulltime Employment (40+hrs/week)
• Personal Traits- Good communication skills with a positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy. Able to work independently and troubleshoot. Organized and methodical.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for creating CNC programming for fabrication. Responsible for sheeting jobs and nesting parts together for best yields. Responsible for producing quality workmanship, which meets or exceeds requirements.

• Write and maintain programs for Tube Laser, Waterjet, Punch, Laser and Masking Template Center, as a minimum, using CAD software. (AP100US, BySoft CAM FlowPath & FlowCut, and CutStudio)
• Determine the best sequence for faster and most reliable punch and laser programs.
• Sheeting jobs that already exist.
• Maintain programs and data files to ensure revision control.
• Nest parts (combining multiple part numbers or creatively nesting single part numbers) on a single sheet to maximize yield
• Understanding CNC/Manual machine capabilities to assist in routing product or fixture development.
• Generate and cut masking templates for the Coating Department.
• Constantly look for areas of common mistakes (e.g., internal errors, material mistakes, wrong dates, etc.) on jobs and drawings and get errors corrected
• Create flat layouts with the correct Bend Deduction or Bend Allowance for varying material types and thicknesses.
• Provide yield sheets and nests for new parts and varying material sizes
• Apply techniques to mitigate areas of confusion with similar parts being produced simultaneously to reduce errors.
• Audit work frequently and adjust or correct, as required.
• Correct material usage errors on jobs and MoMs.
• Poke Yoke processes.
• Understand the MES system to answer questions and aid in daily tasks.
• Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done in the department.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of sheet metal processes
• Extensive computer skills including history with CAD, CNC Programming, and custom product design.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Possess good math skills along with the ability to read and use tape measures, caliper, height gages, and micrometers.
• Able to evaluate tolerance stack up, drawing accuracy, and how to properly create details drawings.
• Basic reading skills.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or 5 years‘ experience in a similar function.
