Duties
Psychologist:
The Mental Health Service (MHS) located in the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) serves as a primary gateway to the Mental Health Service at large and functions as hubs for all mental health care throughout the service. The CBOC MHS facilitates access to mental health treatment and is involved in providing both diagnostic and treatment services. Treatment includes assessment, supportive and evidence- based psychotherapies, and pharmacologic treatment.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The CBOC MHS Program Manager oversees all clinical operations and is responsible for the organization, direction, and management of the Mental Health Clinic.
2. This position will directly supervise an interdisciplinary team including the CBOC Psychotherapy Program Manager and works with the RN Manager. The incumbent may also supervise social workers, psychiatrists, APRNs, and psychologists. Included in that responsibility is the analyzing and evaluating of professional and technical competency of staff assigned to the Program Manager. In addition, the MHC Program Manager is responsible for planning and providing staff development and training to address identified deficiencies and to maintain and enhance skills. Regular meetings with all supervisory staff is a requirement.
3. Administration of the CBOC MHS includes scheduling and running a monthly staff meeting and keeping minutes. The CBOC MHS Program Manager is responsible for maintaining access and general clinic flow. Patient complaints, including Congressional complaints, about care received in the CBOC MHS are the responsibility of the CBOC MHS Program Manager.
4. The CBOC MHS Program Manager is responsible for a variety of performance measures. These are addressed in regular meetings with the clinic nurse manager and supervisory psychologist. The Program Manager, or their designee, is responsible for providing updates to other supervisors. In addition, the CBOC MHS Program Manager is responsible for maintaining readiness for inspections and accreditation activities. The CBOC MHS Program Manager serves on other facility and Mental Health Service committees as needed. The CBOC MHS Program Manager will respond to Action Items as directed by MHS and facility leadership.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Generally, 50% of this employee's time will be considered clinical. The incumbent provides services as expected of a Psychologist.
