Position: Quality Coordinator/RN

Position Summary:

A registered nurse, who with minimal supervision, coordinates the Core Measure compliance program in
the acute care hospital. Additional responsibilities will include provision of consultative services for other Performance Improvement
activities and assisting with compliance activities for all regulatory agencies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Conducts concurrent reviews of the medical records for identification of core measure deficiencies
Collects data regarding Core Measure compliance
Collaborates with nursing staff and physicians to resolve core measure deficiencies
Analyzes data regarding physician Core Measure practice patterns
Provides staff and physician education regarding Core Measure compliance
Develops and implements corrective action plans to address opportunities for improvement (OFI)
Evaluates Core Measure corrective actions

Qualifications

Requirements:

1. Valid Texas professional nursing license, or other current pertinent registration
2. Bachelor of Science degree in health-related field or obtained within 6 months of hire
3. Experience in clinical monitoring programs
4. Minimum of three years experience in bedside nursing
5. Strong verbal and written skills
6. Advanced computer literacy
7. Experience in working with teams and other performance measurement systems desirable

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

1. Ability to read and write in English
2. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
3. Ability to remain calm under stress
4. Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation
5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
6. Bending, lifting (10-20 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling
7. Ability to understand and interpret basic data, statistical and clinical reports
8. Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time
