Salary Range - $122K - $170K Annually

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Business Development Manager leads a team of sales and marketing professionals to evaluate and drive new business opportunities which leverage Kyocera‘s technologies. This role is responsible for understanding market and technology trends, monitoring competitive activities, and identification of specific customer needs. The Manager participates with other managers to establish company strategic plans. Drives company-wide cross-functional marketing initiatives including trade shows, social media, cooperatives, and other projects. This role works in a specific product division but aligns with the Corporate Development Group. Provides analysis for strategic planning and contributes in setting corporate direction with respect to new customers and technologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

4 year degree, BA/Degree in marketing or business
5+ years related Sales Management
8+ years of marketing and business development
Experience executing business development and sales strategies
Extensive Experience in Product / Project Management
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Excellent team building and leadership skills

Intermediate PowerPoint and excel skills, strong public speaking skills
US driver‘s license and ability to legally drive in the US
Eligible to work in ITAR environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategically evaluates emerging initiatives to identify and build new partnerships that enhance our sales opportunities.
  2. Develops and implements systems in support of client development, marketing, and business development. Works closely with Corporate Development teams on social media, events, product placement, websites, and industry events.
  3. Strategically evaluates emerging initiatives to identify and build new partnerships that enhance our sales opportunities.
  4. Performs complete market analysis evaluations including both business and technological aspects. May present data at many levels of the organization.
  5. Develops and implements systems in support of client development, marketing, and business development. Works closely with Corporate Development teams on social media, events, product placement, websites, and industry events.
  6. Maintains close senior level relationships with current and prospective customers and strategic industry partners. May represent division as a management member of sales team in frequent business travel.
  7. Performs complete market analysis evaluations including both business and technological aspects. May present data at many levels of the organization.
  8. Identifies, develops, negotiates, and implements strategic alliances that support division sales objectives. May identify or vet merger and acquisition targets.
  9. Maintains close senior level relationships with current and prospective customers and strategic industry partners. May represent division as a senior member of sales team in frequent business travel.
  10. May act as first point of contact for a target customer or product to assist with integration into production and Kyocera systems. This team then transitions customer account management to the sales force.
  11. Identifies, develops, negotiates, and implements strategic alliances that support division sales objectives. May identify or vet merger and acquisition targets.
  12. Hire, manage, and mentor highly skilled sales team. This includes performance management, coaching, and training.
  13. May act as first point of contact for a target customer or product to assist with integration into production and Kyocera systems. This team then transitions customer account management to the sales force.
  14. Plan and maintain departmental financial reporting. Monitor trends in bookings for the division served and provide corrections and activity to improve or balance revenue. Report on overall sales and marketing spend.
  15. Trains outside sales team on market trends, sales techniques and new Kyocera Technologies which may cross sell into the US Market.
  16. Hire, manage, and mentor highly skilled sales team. This includes performance management, coaching, and training.
  17. Models‘ ethical business practices and accurate reporting.
