Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary: This unclassified, permanent, full-time position is located in the Office of the Secretary, Topeka KS and is supervised by Christopher Kennedy, Secretary of Wildlife and Parks.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: The position assists the Secretary with the planning, management, and direction of a comprehensive program of effective fiscal management of KDWP. Under the guidance of the Secretary, evaluates program effectiveness, develops modifications, and develops initiatives to enhance service delivery. Communicates with all divisions throughout the agency.
Advises and consults with the Secretary, Division Directors, and agency staff on various fiscal, budgetary, funding, and reporting issues. Oversees the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of revenues and expenditures. Advises management on program activities regarding fiscal implications. Identifies, coordinates, and implements fiscal planning under the direction of the Secretary. Evaluates effectiveness of workflow processes and internal controls and develops and implements strategies to improve effectiveness of fiscal operations.
Oversees all functions and responsibilities of the fiscal section in support of all divisions and fiscal aspects of KDWP. Position description available upon request.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or Business Administration.
Licensing & Certification : The successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or Business Administration. Four years of experience in planning, organizing, and directing the work of a department, program, or agency.
Preferred Qualifications : Candidates with a Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration will receive preference.
