BAE Systems Manassas is looking for a ASIC Technology Program Manager to support the Space Systems line of business for the Electronic Solutions sector. Known as an industry leader for its suite of radiation hardened products, BAE Manassas leverages decades of expertise to build a robust Space product line. BAE Systems Space products are present on almost all of commercial, civil and national security space missions for the past 20 years, including GPS, weather monitoring, satellite TV and radio, and exploring the universe - most notably the Mars rovers and missions to protect those who protect us. From semiconductor components to ASICs to Circuit Card Assemblies and Subsystems, our products are ubiquitous throughout Earth's orbit and beyond.

We currently have an opening for a Program Manager I in the Space Systems business area. The role provides an opportunity within the Space Systems Business Area's Program management function. Based in Manassas, VA and reporting to the Space Computers & Products Director, this position is a great opportunity for an employee interested in furthering their Program Management career and leading technology development for Space applications.

As a Program Manager II, this individual shall:
  • Have demonstrated, proven Program Management skills such as cost, schedule, earned value, scope and risk management expertise
  • Be familiar with Space quality manufacturing and test
  • Represent BAE Systems as the primary customer interface
  • Be highly motivated to work the front end of the business capture process prior to RFP and to effectively lead proposal teams for small and intermediate sized opportunities
  • Have a microelectronics technical background and be able to interact with internal and customer engineers
  • Lead the execution of a portfolio of projects including ASIC development and production programs
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to emerging program managers
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Business Development and Engineering to identify new business opportunities and execution strategies for Space Systems Product Lines
  • Collaborate with Operations to understand and resolve procurement and manufacturing issues
  • Make strategic decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ensure that opportunities receive the necessary support from the functional organizations to achieve program objectives
  • Ensure effective utilization of New Business resources within the business area to achieve technical and competitive advantages in the marketplace
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with the program team, line and executive management, customers and suppliers
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated proven Microelectronics Technology Program Management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills in order to interact with and present to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Be comfortable working in an unstructured environment where the day to day responsibilities are fluid.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Space Electronics – Understanding Space domain microelectronics technology including the challenges of developing microelectronics for the Space domain
  • 8+ years with BS
  • 6+ years with MS
  • PMP certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
