The Audit Cybersecurity Director supports audit teams and activities with cyber and information security subject matter expertise. This role is an authority with a deep understanding in multiple cybersecurity domains who can provide expertise to fill knowledge gaps on an audit or other tasks that require augmenting the audit teams. This role is required for their extensive understanding of a particular technology, subject area, process, risks, and controls. They have years of formal education in their subject area, usually possessing advanced cybersecurity certifications. They also have an extensive work history in their industry. Besides their education and experience they understand how to apply their knowledge to real-world risks, especially within the financial sector and banking.

This is not a remote position; we require candidates to be in one of these locations a minimum of 4 days/week.

  1. Establish and manage a comprehensive, dynamic technology audit assurance program for assigned business units (BU). Supervise and coordinate audit activities to ensure all assigned responsibilities are performed in a high quality manner and on a timely basis.
  2. Directly manage a team of technology audit professionals and assume responsibility for the overall coordination and successful completion of a dynamic audit plan for assigned BUs. Effectively lead and manage resources to ensure performance measures and metrics are established and met. Provide leadership in the coaching and development of staff.
  3. Proactively develop and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with senior management of assigned BUs.
  4. Supervise and participate in the planning, scoping and execution of technology audit activities within the framework established by the department's policies and audit methodology.
  5. Comprehensively analyze assigned BUs existing systems, processes and controls to determine the adequacy of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Identify and evaluate risks present in BU coverage areas.
  6. Review and approve audit reports, ensuring they are accurate, clear, concise and relevant such that recipients readily understand issues and risks.
  7. Develop and monitor technology risk assessments through interaction with and analysis of assigned business units. Lead the regular aggregation, correlation, and analysis of a robust program of business monitoring activities designed to identify potential changes impacting the risk profiles.
  8. Serve as a technology subject matter expert for assigned BUs, and continually monitor trends and developments in the auditing profession, technology and banking industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or business-related field, or equivalent education and related experience.
  2. Ten years of progressive audit, technology risk, or examiner experience with a significant portion in the financial services industry, preferably with a large financial services firm.
  3. Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of banking, technology, risk management, and audit practices, with the ability to understand the broader risk.
  4. Excellent leadership abilities, decision making, and critical thinking skills.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with senior management and other stakeholders.
  6. Appropriate professional certification, such as, but not limited to, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in a Business-related field.
  2. Completion of a graduate school of banking.
  3. At least one core cybersecurity certification such as a CISSP or CISA and at least one specialized cybersecurity certification.
