Job SummaryThe after school program at GEMS World Academy is a place for children to play, socialize, learn and grow. A teacher is responsible for the supervision and management of their classroom while supporting GCC goals and outcomes. Working with the after school manager and assistants, the teacher plans and carries out daily activities, evaluates the effectiveness of the program and activities, ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children, maintains regular communication with parents, and contributes to the effective operation of the overall childcare program.Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in an after-school setting or with elementary age children.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with State of IL Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations and City of Chicago Accreditation Guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and flexibility.
  • Experience working with staff and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
