This positon reports to the Director of Finance
General Responsibilities Include
- Train and supervise accounting staff.
- Operationally responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable/credit management, payroll, cashiering functions.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, allocations, prepaid entries as assigned.
- Assist with a/p entry/batches.
- Prepare/post month end accruals.
- Responsible for General ledger/month-end close and P&L statement.
- Coordinate and oversee internal & external audits in conjunction with Director of Finance.
- Responsible for balancing and reconciliation of general ledger & balance sheet accounts.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in similar supervisory role in full service hotel
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field desired but not required
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and the Uniform Standards of Accounts for the Lodging Industry
- Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and internal/external audit experience helpful
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint
- Experience with ProfitSword, M3, LightSpeed, Micros, Marriott systems, Birchstreet and UKG UltiPro highly desired
- Experience in a large, convention style hotel a plus
