Stanford GSB's annual giving group, the Business School Fund (BSF) builds the foundation and pipeline for all fundraising within the school. Sitting within the development organization of the External Relations group, BSF is seeking a Program Specialist to help drive a number of critical, donor-facing projects aimed at supporting the GSB's annual fund program, focusing efforts within alumni reunion and student giving campaigns. A process driven individual with a sharp eye for detail, execution on deliverables, and managing data and reporting, this person will work hand in hand behind the scenes with the Business School Fund Operations Manager to own a number of deadline driven, mission critical projects helping field fundraising colleagues meet their outreach, engagement and stewardship goals working with alumni donors, prospects, and volunteers.

The ideal candidate is organized, self motivated, highly communicative, has an eye for detail, and thrives working in a fast paced, flexible environment. They also have a strong belief in the importance of philanthropy, and are open and willing to jump in and learn new processes and systems with little prompting. In this hybrid role (working 2-3 days on campus per week), you will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a top business school annual fund program, while supporting its efforts to grow a $16M+ fund among thousands of donors.

Your primary responsibilities* include:

  • Analyze and evaluate information from the Oracle donor database (OBI) about prospects and donors. Compile and generate data from multiple sources and consolidate into a summary report to help inform key stakeholders (gift officers, alumni volunteers) to ensure goals are being met. Manage auditing data input for accuracy/data hygiene. Investigate and reconcile data issues and inconsistencies.
  • Track, analyze and report on BSF fundraising progress within the CRM Salesforce database (CARD) against goals and objectives.
  • Research, compile, and write communications for the production of BSF fundraising materials, including specialized appeals and other development communications for stewardship purposes.
  • Maintain dashboards and provide development program reporting and analysis to support fundraising strategies using CRM Salesforce database (CARD) for prospect management.
  • Partner with External Relations gift officers, Donor Relations and Development Communications team, and Alumni Relations event planning staff in the planning, implementation, and execution of donor cultivation and stewardship strategy including special events (Centennial), Leaders in Annual Giving program, and BSF Council meetings.
  • Train and support alumni volunteers on toolkit for sending out thank you letters to classmates and completing peer solicitation outreach.
  • Provide project and administrative Business School Fund support to Operations team associate as needed.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail.
  • Superb time management skills, including the ability to work efficiently, set and meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Strong analytical skills to review and assess complex information.
  • Comfort with technology and data management with demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive material.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience with database applications.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights and/or weekends as needed. (estimate: 5 times a year)

In addition, preferred requirements include:

  • 3-5 years functional experience in financial analysis, operations, program management, or customer service.
  • 3-5 years experience working in financial services, non-profit work, financial aid, or higher education is desirable.

The expected pay range for this position is $83,000 to $100,000 per year.
