The Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center, located in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Urologist. The Division of Urology is a close-knit group of surgeons with varying degrees of appointment with the affiliate facility, Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. The Urologist appointed to this position will work primarily at the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center location, with negotiable clinic and operative time at VCU. The candidate will be expected to work with Urology residents and Advanced Practice Providers in our clinic and other settings to evaluate and treat patients with general urological conditions.

The Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center serves as a training site for 50% of the VCU Urology Residency Program. The candidate will play a key role in resident education in the forms of outpatient clinical patient management, inpatient management, and operative training, as well as through participation in weekly conferences and didactic sessions. The Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center is one of Virginia's leading medical centers and serves as tertiary care referral center. This 1.2 million square foot facility is home to the latest and most sophisticated medical equipment and facilities for health care delivery for our nation's Heroes. Contained within the main building are a Polytrauma center of Excellence, a radiation therapy facility, an MRI suite, a large spinal cord injury and disorders unit, a hospice unit, nursing home care unit, and extensive ambulatory care facilities. The first heart transplants in the VA system were performed at the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center and over three hundred and fifty transplants have been performed at the medical center.
