As a Sr Safety Specialist, You Create Chemistry By...- Providing technical and regulatory expertise to ensure occupational safety compliance at the site as part of a zero-incident mindset and be responsible for comprehensive occupational health and Industrial Hygiene (IH) support and oversight for the site.
- Working with management on identified safety issues / recommendations / opportunities to foster continuous improvement of safety programs and culture.
- Assisting units with the implementation of BASF's Responsible Care Management Systems (RCMS) including, but not limited to, Control of Hazardous Energy – Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Hot Work, Fall Protection, Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, and Emergency Planning and Response.
- Reinforcing a culture of behavior-based safety and support emergency response activities through the development of required drills and coordination of annual training.
- Helping to develop exposure assessments, including exposure and hazard evaluation, as well as control solutions for chemical agents, biological agents and physical stress agents (e.g., occupational noise). Being responsible for data interpretation, data communication (monitoring reports and control Internalrecommendation), and regulatory compliance relating to occupational health and safety.
- Engaging with others both inside and outside of the organization, you will participate in capital project reviews consistent with the level of industrial hygiene and safety expertise needed and support the interface with regulatory agencies and third parties on compliance and enforcement issues as needed.
- Possess education and work background in safety, as well as knowledge of related technologies and regulations.
- Are able to demonstrate your commitment to BASF corporate initiatives,
- Demonstre your wealth of safety experience, and your capacity to be a role model.
- Have experience with contractors and contractor safety (desired quality)
- Reinforce a culture of behavior-based safety.
- Are able to support emergency response activities and coordinate training drills
