External and Corporate Relations Vice-Presidency (ECR)

The mission of External and Corporate Relations (ECR) is to help deliver financial and political support for the World Bank Group, strengthen the Bank Groups role as a global thought leader in development by enhancing and safeguarding its reputation, and supporting operational teams to achieve country outcomes. ECR manages corporate communications and global engagement with key stakeholders, including media, civil society, foundations, private sector, donor countries, and international organizations, as well as employee engagement. ECR also manages strategic communications for the World Banks Regions and Global Practices and leads the management of reputation risk.

Department context:

The ECR Editorial and Digital (ECRED) department manages the World Banks external corporate presence and reputation through its digital platforms and channels, oversees employee engagement communications and provides insights and impact analysis of our communications work. The ECR Content Team is responsible for the Banks corporate online and social media presence, and produces content for a wide variety of platforms, including print, broadcast, and web.

Background / General description

ECRs Business Intelligence (BI) team in ECRs Editorial and Digital unit (ECRED) measures and evaluates the World Banks communication work, optimizes digital campaigns, and researches the opinions of key stakeholders to assess and improve the reputation of the institution globally. The Business Intelligence team is an essential partner for communications colleagues across the World Bank Group, it provides them with data and insights to inform communication strategies and operational priorities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated individual with demonstrated hands-on experience with quantitative research efforts and digital analytics tools and platforms (Tableau, social media, and web measurement). The successful candidate possesses excellent presentation and communication skills, and is able to discover and articulate actionable insights from large amounts of data.

This is an Extended Term Full-Time Consultancy for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The job is based in Washington, D.C.
.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Public Opinion Research

Supports the deployment of multiple public opinion research projects including country opinion surveys, web visitor surveys, stakeholder survey in donor countries, and event satisfaction surveys.

Prepares research reports from various survey efforts, including quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and presentations of survey results in PowerPoint.

Performs statistical analysis including straight forward banner reporting, quadrant analysis, and multivariate analysis when necessary.



Data Analysis and Insights

Measures and reports on the performance of digital channels (web, social media, e-newsletters) and marketing campaigns (paid and earned); produces reports with trends, opportunities, and data-driven insights.

Develops interactive dashboards in Tableau that aggregate data from multiple sources including surveys, social media, and digital channels.

Works with the Banks Information Technology department to ensure research and data tools (Tableau, Qualtrics, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Campaign) continuously support ECRs strategic measurement goals.

Selection Criteria

Bachelors degree and at least two years of relevant experience.

Expert in Microsoft Excel, including pivot-tables and advanced functions. Strong data visualization skills in PowerPoint.

Knowledge of web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics) and campaign tracking codes (CIDs/UTMs). Understanding of Adobe Analytics technical specifications will be a plus.

Advanced knowledge of social media analytics, including paid promotion metrics

Demonstrated experience in building, managing and creating BI dashboards in Tableau, Power BI or similar tools.

Advanced proficiency level is required in SPSS and R statistical software.

Ability to identify opportunities from data analysis and to present insights in a concise manner to a diverse stakeholder group.

Knowledge of common foreign languages is a plus.
