Description:
- Will handle patient flow - over 200 patients in per day
- Greet patients when they walk in the door
- Check insurance and update patient files
- Answer all incoming phone calls
- Schedule appointments
- Explanation of benefits
- Walk patients through long term care plans and make sure they know exactly what they have pay for and what insurance will cover
- Can be very intricate care plans over lots of years of plans. must know difference between co pays, deductibles
- Won't have to check patients in for immunotherapy but will have to monitor
- Front desk must alert the nurse if they hear patients coughing or sneezing to get them attention prior to a full reaction
Qualifications:
- Healthcare front desk experience that includes: very knowledgeable in insurances, explanation of benefits, scheduling appointments, how to explain care plans to patients, high volume clinic with multiple providers
- Customer service mindset
