  • Will handle patient flow - over 200 patients in per day
  • Greet patients when they walk in the door
  • Check insurance and update patient files
  • Answer all incoming phone calls
  • Schedule appointments
  • Explanation of benefits
    • Walk patients through long term care plans and make sure they know exactly what they have pay for and what insurance will cover
    • Can be very intricate care plans over lots of years of plans. must know difference between co pays, deductibles
  • Won't have to check patients in for immunotherapy but will have to monitor
    • Front desk must alert the nurse if they hear patients coughing or sneezing to get them attention prior to a full reaction

Qualifications:

  • Healthcare front desk experience that includes: very knowledgeable in insurances, explanation of benefits, scheduling appointments, how to explain care plans to patients, high volume clinic with multiple providers
  • Customer service mindset
