Bourbon Specialist

The following position is open in Loretto Kentucky, United States. This position will be based at the Maker's Mark distillery, which is approximately 20 miles south of Bardstown, KY.

Position Summary: Responsible for conducting on-site hospitality, which includes tours, tasting's and events as well as operating the Gift Shop and Tasting room which includes cash sales, merchandise maintenance, inventory, general cleaning and Ambassador hospitality,

Position Responsibilities:

  • Working with the public in a friendly manner
  • Learning the history of Maker's Mark
  • Tours; VIP, Private, Holiday
  • Ambassador sign-in & specialties
  • Special events set-up
  • Tour confirmations
  • Brochure Management
  • General cleaning of facilities
  • Inventory control, including receiving, tagging and tracking
  • Special dipping of merchandise
  • VIP Labels
  • Supports and adhere to the job requirements for the department with regards to Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and fully support the company IMS objectives and initiatives
  • Other duties as indicated

Non-Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in beverage alcohol industry
  • Point of Sale Application Software
  • Experience in tourism or hospitality related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • Foreign language experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
    • Moderate lifting and carrying (15 – 44 lbs)
    • Use of fingers
    • Both hands and legs are required
    • Walking
    • Standing for 6 hours
    • Near and far vision correctable
    • Hearing (aid is permitted)
    • Speaks clear English
  • Work Environment: The employee will encounter the following environmental factors while performing the job:
    • Inside and outside
    • Excessive heat and humidity
    • Slippery or uneven walking surfaces

    • Works around machinery with moving parts
