  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Medical Licensure in Washington, DC required.
  • Certified Internal Medicine (ABIM) and Board Certified (or eligible) in Endocrinology
  • BLS Certification required.
  • JHCP Hospital-Based Medicine at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC
  • Evaluate and co-manage hospitalized patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders
  • Provide consultations for patients in the emergency department, ward floors, labor and delivery, and intensive care units
  • Order tests, medications and treatments and oversee the direction and treatment of patients.
  • Document and code treatment in patient medical records.
  • Design and develop hospital-based policies, discharge planning related to diabetes and endocrine disorders
  • Provide education to medical and nursing staff
  • Collaborate with diabetes care and education specialists
  • Contribute to the Glucose Steering Committee
  • Participate in quality improvement projects (e.g. CMS Glycemic Control)
  • Report to the Endocrine Hospitalist Director.
