Summary

The Hematology/Oncology Staff Physician provides direct patient care and is responsible for carrying out operations of the Hematology/Oncology section of Medical Service.

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS JOB ANNOUNCEMENT supporting the Dayton VA Medical Center. Applicants will be referred for current vacancies and any vacancies that arise for the duration of this job announcement.



Duties

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The Staff Physician (Hematology/Oncology) provides direct patient care and is responsible for carrying out operations of the Hematology/Oncology section of Medical Service.
  • The physician collaborates with the Section Chief to determine the mission and objectives of the Section. In addition to clinical matters, the physician should have experience with education and training activities of Fellows, medical residents, and medical student programs.
Preferred Experience: Board eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology.

Work Schedule: Rotatory Inpatient and Outpatient duties, 8:00am to 4:30pm and taking call Sundays only during inpatient rotation.
