A Drafting/CAD Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Christiansburg, VA area. This role involves utilizing computer-aided design systems to prepare drawings and schematics for mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, while also demonstrating problem-solving skills, coordination abilities, and compliance with deadlines and confidentiality.

responsibilities:
Utilizes integrated systems for computer-aided design to represent mechanical and architectural structures systematically.

Prepares drawings or schematics for mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, equipment, and structures.

Utilizes CAD digitizing techniques and skills.

Digitizes and edits integrated circuit drawings, including components and assemblies.

Performs engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications.

Possesses considerable technical and content knowledge of the job.

Understands practical applications and can solve complex problems.

Mastery of regular situations encountered in the role. Skills: SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred, but other equivalent CAD software experience may be considered.

Education and Experience:

AAS (Associate of Applied Science) degree required.

HS Diploma with experience.

3+ years in a related field.
