What You'll Do

KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2024 Intern class.

There is a nationwide shortage of engineers with experience in creating electronic components in a secure manner – called Trusted Micro-Electronics by the DoD and academia community. This project supports Efficient Power management IC with trusted features which supports AFRL RYDT program.

As a National Security Solutions Intern, you will:

  • Design, simulation and layout of an analog integrated circuit building block for power management and/or trusted microelectronics applications
  • Learn to use Cadence design suite (Virtuoso) for simulation and creating schematics, symbols, and layouts
  • Learn IC design methodology flow
  • Measure design parameters of existing parts (if applicable)
  • Complete circuit design and design review process

Selected interns for this paid opportunity will be provided with the opportunity to mentor with experienced professionals, gain experience and establish a name for themselves in this high demand career field.

Anticipated Skill Set:

  • 1 semester of analog or analog IC design class
  • 1 semester of power electronics class
  • A semiconductor device physics class is a plus
  • A microelectronics processing class is a plus
  • An interest in transistor level, analog circuit design
  • Major field of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: Average 40 hours per week.

Requirement:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Security Pre-Screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
