Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the EHS&S team with developing, implementing, and supporting safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement in safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact.
  • Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols, environmental sustainability practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze data and metrics to track progress towards safety and sustainability goals and recommend adjustments to strategies as needed.
  • Assist the EHS&S team with investigating incidents and accidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions with effectiveness check strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in EHS management, safety technologies, and sustainable business practices.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on matters related to safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability.

Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:

  • Close working relationship with all departments and levels of management within the MFG facility, Distribution Center, and Corporate Offices.
  • FTE and Agency workers will be key stakeholders

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles, with a focus on safety and sustainability initiatives within a cGMP Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards related to occupational health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement within the organization.
