Position Description:
The Department of Rhetoric at the University of Iowa is searching for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor, teaching three courses per semester. There is a possibility of 1-year renewals of this position for a maximum of 3 years. The position will typically involve teaching 3 General Education Rhetoric courses per semester.

RHET 1030 is required for almost all undergraduates in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, typically in their first or second year. It is a discussion-based class (enrollment capped at 20) with a focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills. Instructors should be capable of teaching discussion-based courses, offering clear and frequent feedback, scaffolding assignments, and designing syllabi that follow our curriculum.
