This position works closely with Adin Sadic, project manager

The market research and outreach intern works with the Content Team as part of the Wexner Center's Communications/Marketing Department. Reporting to the director of marketing content and working closely with the department project manager, this role will assist in researching market and demographic trends and help to strategize outreach and copromotional opportunities for all areas of Wexner Center programming. Additionally, this role will help in physically distributing posters, fliers, calendars, and other printed materials around Ohio State's campus and immediate area—all within walking distance, driving is not required.

In addition to departmental responsibilities, all Wexner Center interns participate in a center-wide internship cohort. To support this cohort, the Learning & Public Practice department offers professional development sessions and gatherings that interns are expected to attend throughout their internship. We welcome feedback on the internship program as a whole and seek to foster a collaborative and generative environment for all interns.

Responsibilities:

  • Market and demographic research for the Columbus and Central Ohio region and state of Ohio
  • Being part of an outreach team to develop outreach and copromotional strategies
  • Tracking material distribution with project manager
  • Research on distribution locations of promotional materials and contacting said locations to receive permission to distribute
  • physically delivering select materials to these locations (primarily within and near Ohio State University)

Requirements:

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Wex internships are open to

  • students currently enrolled in a college or university (graduating seniors, graduate students and international students are welcome)
  • recent high school or university graduates (1-3 years post-completion) and
  • emerging professionals with less than 5 years of experience in the arts and culture or nonprofit fields.
  • 8–10 hours a week
  • Job requires some physical labor, including delivering packages and hanging posters
  • Position is for January–May 2024

Additional Information:

Term:
This is a one-semester appointment (Spring 2024) with the option to renew for a second semester (Autumn 2024).

Compensation: Pay range is $11 – $14/hr. Amount and method of payment will be determined by candidate experience. The Wex can also support course credit work through the candidate's home academic unit in lieu of monetary compensation, if preferred.
