Over the past year, MPH has doubled its Annual Fund, increased enrollment, and embarked on an exciting strategic planning process. The incoming Associate Director for Annual Giving will play a pivotal role in this upward trajectory, focusing on fostering a tradition of joyful philanthropy among our stakeholders at MPH.

The Associate Director for Annual Giving reports to the Director of Development and is responsible for the organization, management, and growth of the MPH Annual Fund. In addition to managing the Annual Fund the Associate Director for Annual Giving will manage the planning and execution of the school's annual fundraising gala celebration. As a key member of the development team, the Associate Director for Annual Giving will work in close collaboration with members of the Development Team to strengthen community engagement and grow the culture of philanthropy among all constituents of the school. This is a small team with a collaborative, "can-do" approach.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the Director of Development to meet yearly fundraising targets for the school. Participate in donor research, cultivation and stewardship, Annual Fund leadership gift solicitations and other collaborative efforts to increase community participation in fundraising and meet school's financial fundraising targets.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive yearly Annual Fund strategy. Including Annual Fund appeals, donor communications and community cultivation efforts. Track and evaluate the effectiveness of strategy.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications and vendors to design direct mail materials, online giving web pages, e-mail solicitations, and social media postings, videos, and event invitations.
  • Develop strategy for reunion giving program in partnership with the Alumni Relations Associate.
  • Oversee and manage efforts of the Development Department for a successful annual fundraising gala celebration, including gala volunteer recruitment and management. With input from gala volunteers and direct assistance from the Associate Director for Donor Relations and Events oversee the selection of event theme and location. Manage corresponding event communications, ticket sales, corporate sponsorship solicitations and program ad-sales. Proceeds of the gala support the school's Annual Fund.

Previous independent school, collegiate, or non-profit fundraising/development and volunteer management experience, a plus. Experience with organizational social media and/or design, a plus. Command of office technology tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Raiser's Edge database. Strong cultural competency skills, with demonstrated experience working across diverse constituencies.
