The Department of Classics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami is seeking applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach three courses per semester during Fall 2024 – Spring 2025. A Ph.D. in Classics or a related discipline is required by the starting date of the appointment, August 15, 2024. At least one year's experience in college-level teaching is preferred. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in Latin and/or Greek and/or English translation as well as courses in Classical culture (special interest in Greek and Roman medicine, etymology, or environmental humanities is welcome), and participating in various departmental activities.
