About the RolePerforms preventive and general maintenance on plant and production equipment on a routine and emergency basis.
Your Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair all electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems on machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintains Work Orders and PM records on all equipment as assigned.
- Directs contractors and ensures Safety procedures and adhered too.
- Maintains Downtime logs and change logs.
- Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace. Cooperate with OSHA MIOSHA inspectors. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately. Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves.
- Understand your responsibility to the environmental programs, including ISO14001. Understand the importance of conformance with all environmental procedures of the environmental management system, including emergency response. Understand the EMS consequences, actual or potential, of their work activities and/or their behaviors from specified work instructions.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must have a current and valid Driver's License.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to Five years of manufacturing maintenance experience required (Automotive Tier 1 experience preferred).
- Mechanical or Electrical technician certificate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all equipment in designated area of responsibility.
- Must have current knowledge of electrical codes and electricity and be able to apply it to the job.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with and work in a team environment.
- Machine rebuilding and mechanical knowledge including electrical required.
- Knowledge of S.C. OSHA standards and various industrial building/construction codes.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, PLCs and PCs.
