Job Description

The Ralph J. Roberts Center for Research in Economic Geology (CREG) at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant 2. **This position is contingent upon funding and does not afford layoff rights.**

The position will be responsible for budgeting and reconciling accounts by establishing budgets for graduate assistant project, reviewing all accounting and budgets for accuracy, preparing year end budget reports for annual meetings, completing all university forms for payments, hosting, procurement card and other accounting documents. The position will maintain weekly account spreadsheets and track Graduate Assistant budgets, create invoice statements for UNR sponsors, and will handle all necessary letters and forms for money transfers to other accounts. The position requires knowledge of University budget account policies and procedures and must have knowledge of Excel and Workday reports. The incumbent will liaise and work with other administrative staff within the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology (NBMG) and the wider university to ensure the administrative staff within CREG and NBMG work as a team toward the department's goals.

This position will also assist with all travel requests for the CREG director and students, and is responsible for general office duties including: maintaining all files concerning budget/personnel for graduate students; purchasing and inventory; attending department and university meetings; planning technical sessions and meetings; planning distinguished lecture series; and creating posters, flyers and invitations for workshops.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Schedule

This is a part-time position at 50% FTE, 20 hours weekly, this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 25 (Entry, Step 01 $18.40/hr - Step 03 $19.94/hr)
