Job Description:

The Comprehensive Transplant Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Ambulatory Specialty Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will provide specialized care to heart transplant patients in an ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced nursing care to heart transplant patients, including pre- and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about heart transplant procedures, post-transplant care, and ongoing health maintenance.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives within the transplant center.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in the state of Maryland.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac or transplant setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
