General Summary of Position
Assists in supervising staff and ensures a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for patients, associates, and visitors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in the development of department goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with hospital/facility policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations.Assists in training, orienting, and assigning department staff. Assists in evaluating performance. Makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with staff to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.Ensures that equipment used by Environmental Services is regularly cleaned and maintained in proper and safe working condition.Makes thorough onsite assessment of each assigned area of the building to determine the effectiveness of housekeeping efforts, Ensures that the building is maintained in an odor free and clean condition and takes direct, immediate action to correct observed deficiencies. Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for residents, associates, and visitors.Monitors housekeeping practices, trash and garbage collection procedures, and corrects unsatisfactory practices.Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts as required.Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.Performs other duties as assigned.Prepares and maintains records, files, and other documents.Stocks and controls department supplies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

  • 3-4 years Housekeeping experience required and
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
