Main Purpose of Job

In collaboration with the Director of Performance Improvement, Chief Executive Officer,�Chief Operating Officer, Director of Plant Management, and Director of Security, this position manages�the Environment of Care (EOC) as it relates to personnel, materials, equipment, and the�physical environment for patients and approximately staff, volunteers and�visitors. This position oversees, monitors, and evaluates all Environment of Care activities. This position manages and�measures compliance with all EOC, accreditation/regulatory requirements, identifies�problem areas and solutions. This position directs the emergency planning and management of the hospital in collaboration with the county and State in accordance with their guidance.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:���Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work. \r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two�years of the required experience.�\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a college or university�for the required experience.\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required�experience.��\r

The selected candidate must possess 1 years experience of Occupational Safety and Health.\r

Experience and/ or knowledge �of codes /standards for regulatory agencies including The Joint Commission chapters: �Life Safety, Environment of Care, and Emergency Management (including�NFPA Code 99 - Health Care Facilities,�NFPA Code 101 - Life Safety Code and�Federal and Maryland State Occupational Health and Safety Administration)\r
Ability to oversee, develop, review of the 6 Environment Of Care (EOC) Management Plans and Environmental Operating Procedures (EOP)\r
Development of plans to enhance the safety of a hospital environment for all stakeholders\r

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
