The Staff Pharmacist Senior Manager is responsible for leading the Express Scripts Home Delivery Drug File and PAW teams. This role will lead the Drug File and PAW teams' operational strategy, as well as develop and execute the teams' overall business and clinical strategy to support patient outcomes and business results. The role oversees the leaders of the team of analysts and pharmacists supporting initiatives that improve the quality and cost effectiveness of drug therapy in coordination with other team members as identified.


Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Provide people leadership for teams of pharmacists and analysts and their leaders
  • Train and mentor new and/or developing leaders, pharmacists and analysts
  • Lead and execute the development of performance initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Implements and/or supervises the development of specific pharmacy services and new programs and plans.
  • Coordinates and directs all activities related to the dispensing, delivery, receipt, and handling of medications and associated products within regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitors productivity and achievement against goals and targets, reviews and approves procurement recommendations and actions.
  • Manages a team of Pharmacy job family roles.
  • Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and experience to set departmental goals which align with functional strategy.
  • Focuses on implementing and executing strategies across multiple departments/disciplines/teams. Requires an RPh license.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist in one existing Express Scripts Home Delivery state
  • 7 to 10 years of pharmacy preferred (PBM/mail-order experience preferred)
  • 3 to 5 years people leadership experience preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders as part of an integrated team
  • Knowledge of computer applications
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements

This position would be considered Flex and will need to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week.
