We are searching for a Flow Cytometry Technologist to join our Lancaster SC team. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives". This Analyst will work alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient.
The work schedule for this position will be: Part time 1st shift, Wednesday-Thursday 7:30am-6:00pm
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs routine high complexity testing of leukemia/lymphoma specimens including specimen processing, gating of dot plot histograms and initial resulting.
- Properly performs and documents quality assurance and quality control.
- Properly prioritizes samples according to policy.
- Operates equipment as needed to complete testing.
- Performs sample preparation.
- Recognizes problems that may adversely affect patient care and takes appropriate action.
- Participates in required Continuing Education activities.
- Serves as an example and resource to other testing laboratory personnel.
- Assists in training of personnel.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biology, Chemistry, or related Life Science required.
- 1 year of clinical lab testing with human specimens is required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in Flow Cytometry is highly preferred.
- MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), CLS(NCA) or SCYM(ASCP) certification is a plus.
- Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of wet lab duties and instrument troubleshooting.
