We are searching for a Flow Cytometry Technologist to join our Lancaster SC team. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives". This Analyst will work alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient.

The work schedule for this position will be: Part time 1st shift, Wednesday-Thursday 7:30am-6:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine high complexity testing of leukemia/lymphoma specimens including specimen processing, gating of dot plot histograms and initial resulting.
  • Properly performs and documents quality assurance and quality control.
  • Properly prioritizes samples according to policy.
  • Operates equipment as needed to complete testing.
  • Performs sample preparation.
  • Recognizes problems that may adversely affect patient care and takes appropriate action.
  • Participates in required Continuing Education activities.
  • Serves as an example and resource to other testing laboratory personnel.
  • Assists in training of personnel.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biology, Chemistry, or related Life Science required.
  • 1 year of clinical lab testing with human specimens is required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Flow Cytometry is highly preferred.
  • MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), CLS(NCA) or SCYM(ASCP) certification is a plus.
  • Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of wet lab duties and instrument troubleshooting.
