One Alight Solution Advisor, VP

The One Alight Solution Advisor, VP combines business value advisory skills, engagement expertise, and deep knowledge of Alight's transformational capabilities to curate solutions that drive differentiated outcomes for our clients.

Role and Responsibilities

One Alight Solution Advisors, VP has a broad knowledge of all services across Alight (e.g., Health, Wealth, Consumer Experience, and Payroll) but is "major" in the capabilities and impact of transformative solutions such as:

  • Alight Worklife – Access and Optimize
  • Candidate engagement and Total Rewards

  • Health Navigation and Clinical support
  • Marketplace and Lifestyle accounts

Key to this role is the ability to go deep on these transformational solutions such that we show up as "One Alight", with one solution and one seamless experience for our clients and their people. The One Alight Solution Advisor helps us approach clients and prospects in a way that competitors can't match.

The VP level can independently lead the most complex opportunities and plays a leadership role within the One Alight Solutions Advisors group (e.g., supporting/mentoring colleagues, driving continuous improvement, and leading projects supporting Commercial goals). They establish and maintain strategic relationships with Commercial and Product leaders, ensuring that One Alight Solution Advisor support continues to evolve to meet business priorities.

One Alight Solution Advisors are a key part of a strategic team that includes Value Engineering and Wellbeing experts. The team partners with Strategic Account Executives, Market Makers, and Sales Executives, engaging clients/prospects to "create" the opportunity. The team does not rely on RFPs and client requests to drive solutions, instead focusing on:

  • Discovery (e.g., design-think) and visioning exercises that uncover opportunities and provide the foundation for tying solutions to client priorities
  • Partner with Wellbeing experts on solutioning workshops
  • Alignment of Alight capabilities of strategic outcomes the client needs to achieve (business and people priorities), with a "prove it" approach on ROI.
  • Collaboration with Value Engineering on analysis and development of business case.

One Alight Solution Advisors are experts in delivering high-impact demos that go beyond feature-function and tie the experience together. With deep knowledge of transformation solutions and a point-of-view, they can take clients on persona-based journeys and flex to follow client interests. They help minimize the number of Alight resources that need to engage a client as we collaborate to define strategy and help them visualize the experience.

As an opportunity progresses, One Alight Solution Advisors quarterback the development of the solution, scope, and fees. They pull in the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (e.g., Domain Solution Architects, Proposal Team, etc.), and collaborate with Finance and business leadership. They cut across organizational structure and ensure we are looking for the solution through a client's view – is it easy and are we coming across as one company?

One Alight Solution Advisors are involved in all stages of the deal – from supporting proposal development and RFP responses through contracting (e.g., owning the Service Schedule) and ensuring a smooth transition to implementation and ongoing customer success.

One Alight Solution Advisors apply knowledge of best practices (show up with a point of view) and advocate for the deployment of solutions that achieve "customization" through configuration instead of one-off custom solutions that create currency and support challenges down the road.

One Alight Solution Advisors are students of our transformational solutions and the industry – focusing on continuing education related to wellbeing and talent trends, our research, and product roadmap. They can speak to where we are headed 6-12 months from now and tie that to client priorities.

In addition to applying their skills in client/prospect engagements, the One Alight Solution Advisor also focuses on enhancing how we show up. They provide input and ideas on new ways to discover and solve, work with the demo team (what do we need to tell the story), and serve as an important feedback loop to the Product, Finance, and business leadership teams.

They also play a key role in building organizational knowledge of our transformational solutions (e.g., supporting SAE, SE, and SA skill-building in these areas).

One Alight Solution Advisors also work to build market presence and enhance our brand – assisting with conference presentations, webinars, and meetings with Third-Party Evaluators.

Qualifications

One Alight Solution Advisors work on strategic opportunities that are often not well-defined at the outset. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, consultative, and have a strong grasp of the principles related to digital and HR transformation. They must possess the necessary experience to bring three competencies together in one customer-facing role:

  • Solution design and architecture – vision of how Alight's solutions work together and integrate to solve business problems across our full solution and services portfolio
  • Value – articulate business value and outcomes to customers – elevate the conversation beyond transactions
  • Industry expert – domain expertise to credibly position solutions in the context of the business environment.

The candidate must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a software and services organization with an expanding customer base. They must be able to orchestrate a pre-sales cycle by coordinating and collaborating with internal Alight solution and product experts. Specific experience for the role should include:

  • 15+ years of Health, Wealth, Consumer Experience/engagement or wellbeing consulting, delivery, or domain leadership experience.
  • 10+ years of extensive experience engaging with clients or prospects with a focus on solution development and/or consulting. This includes experience leading consulting/solutioning with large, complex organizations.
  • Experience playing a lead role in developing best practices and driving continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated team leadership in defining priorities, strategy for achieving goals, and driving execution.
  • Highly strategic – the ability to engage with senior client leaders, understand business priorities, and provide recommendations that align with corporate strategy.
  • Learning agility – this role requires quickly building depth in transformational solutions.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including experience leading engaging discussions with large groups. Present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely, with a focus on impact and value. Dynamically adjust the level of detail provided based on the audience.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects at different stages of the deal cycle, with little need for escalation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as leadership, teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office, on the road, and in Alight office locations
  • Based in the continental US or Canada
  • Ability to travel (20-30%)
