The faculty of our department provides anesthesia services to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the Ambulatory Surgical Pavilion at RWJ and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital in New Brunswick New Jersey. The primary goals of our department are to provide optimal anesthetic care for our patients, educate and train students, residents/fellows, research staff, and ancillary personnel, and conduct nationally respected research aimed at improving the quality of patient care during anesthesia. The faculty of the Department of Anesthesia provided anesthesia to over 35,000 patients annually at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. The cardiac anesthesia faculty provided anesthesia services for over twelve hundred cardiac procedures this past year, and the department s pain faculty treated over seventeen hundred patients at the New Jersey Pain Institute.
