Staff VP Manufacturer Relations & Trade (Paragon)

Summary

The Staff VP, Manufacturer Relations is responsible for the strategic approach to pharmaceutical manufacturer access and contracting to enhance Paragon's ability to serve patients across multiple settings (ambulatory infusion centers, specialty pharmacies, ambulatory infusion suites, and physician offices) and regions. Leads all aspects of pharmaceutical service contract negotiations including development of strategic objectives, proposal assessment, pro forma analyses, competitive proposal analyses, contract development, implementation, and ongoing contract monitoring. Independently identifies and contributes to the development of novel programs, service offerings that meet the shared business needs of Paragon and its manufacturer partners.

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains contract compliance documentation; Oversees performance and outcomes reporting and market research related to the partners we serve
  • Leads implementation of corporate initiatives related to manufacturer and manufacturer-affiliated partners, including special project planning and budget management.
  • Leads review, pricing analysis, negotiation, and execution of new agreements; Performs analysis on data to support objectives in contract negotiations; Re-negotiates low margin therapies on existing agreements
  • Drives expansion activities by
  • Providing guidance and recommendations on accessing pipeline products in current and new therapeutic categories and sites of care;
  • Providing consistent and accurate business intelligence regarding the competitive landscape related to trade and infusion services ops;
  • Preparing RFPs and Letters of Interest specific to pipeline pharmaceutical opportunities.
  • Develops excellent working relationships with pharmaceutical company personnel and key decision makers to advance Paragon's market presence, value proposition, and align manufacturer objectives; Resolves complex or politically sensitive issues.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to maintain quality, compliance, data integrity and operational standards within reimbursement, billing, intake, operations, and sales departments as it relates to contracted terms and agreements
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Position Requirements

Requires a BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Business Administration/Finance and a minimum of 3 year's experience of pharmaceutical contracting and a total of seven years of business experience; management experience is also required; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

  • MBA strongly preferred.
  • Biotech or pharmaceutical industry background preferred, ideally includes infusion center/physician practice and home infusion experience.
  • Possess strong acumen around finance and negotiation, including various types of contracting arrangements and implementation, procurement of products, specialty services such as data services, compliance and persistency programs and other performance services preferred.

Corporate Title: Staff VP Pharma Contract Strat

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $156,400.00 to $281,520.00.
