The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort and Club is looking for a Tram Host (Seasonal) to join the team

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.

The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and IRD.

· Classification: Seasonal (June to September)

· Shift: Typically, 9AM to 5:30PM or 10AM to 6:30PM depending on business needs – must have availability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

What will I be doing?

As a Tram Host, you would be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests to the tram waiting area. Communicate with tram drivers the number of guests waiting and arriving to destination.

  • Welcome and assist guests in tram areas.
  • Assist with any guests requests or needs in regard to transportation around the property.
  • Operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report status of service.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness behind the greeter stand.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as executing special guest requests.
  • Be totally familiar with and inform guests of hotel facilities, hours of operation, and special promotions.

Desired Qualifications:


• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.


• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.


• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.


• Knowledge of the city, particularly tourist attractions.


• Most work tasks are performed outdoors.


• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.


• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.


• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.


• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.


• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.


• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

Pay Range: The hourly rate is $19 per hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
