Amentum is currently searching for SME with Biomedical engineering and Molecular biology, Biophysics degrees / experience. The SME will perform in a hybrid role, working with our client support and business development teams to mature and implement our Health Sciences strategic plan.

Envisioned duties will include:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in optical engineering or ultrasound technologies with Pre-clinical or clinical research and tech transfer experience
  • Provide subject matter expertise in ocular cell biology, ocular pharmacology or diseases of the eye with data science, image processing and machine learning based approaches
  • Support program management and technology transition support
  • Network with potential teaming partners and provide teaming recommendations
  • Interface with existing and potential future customers to understand emerging requirements and trends

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the SME fields cited above. Candidates must possess a PhD degree in science or engineering related field. We also desire candidates with experience in the health technology commercial market inclusive of understanding how to scale and transition R&D efforts for commercial application. Candidates should have adequate depth of experience to provide technical and management advice for in house activities as well as directly to customers. Preferred candidate has broad interpersonal network in the health technology space.

Because the candidate will be expected to develop strong relationships with existing and new customers, location in the Washington DC metropolitan area is highly desirable to ensure responsiveness, although partial telework will be permitted.
