Duties and Responsibilities

The position directly supports proposal preparation efforts of our faculty/staff, ensuring each proposal meets the technical and budgetary requirements of the sponsoring agency, federal regulations, and the policies/procedures of the University prior to submission.

Assists with all administrative/ non financial post award requirements.

  • Interacts with principal investigators, assisting them with development, preparation, and submission of proposals for external funding to various funding agencies.
  • Reviews all proposals prior to submission and confirms compliance with sponsor guidelines, as well as with University and ORS policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and analyzes award documents prior to acceptance.
  • Keeps updated on all new federal and state regulations that apply to the grant process; interprets agencyspecific guidelines/regulations that apply to the proposal and award process.
  • Provides consultation and expertise to faculty, staff and sponsors regarding terms and conditions of grants, contracts, and subcontracts.
  • Collaborates and creates partnerships with other units within the University that interact and serve principal investigators.
  • Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and two-four years of related experience in grant and contract administration.
Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and analytical skills required. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work well with a variety of constituents.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed herein are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Candidates should be familiar with electronic research administration such as Commons, NSF, DOJ, etc. Candidates should possess advanced computer skills, and have the ability to quickly master specialized software applications.
