About the Position

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will work with customers in the Pacific Northwest and support revolutionary microbiology platforms that offer rapid, accurate, and cost-effective microorganism detection and identification for both IVD and RUO applications. The FAS will manage technical success across all accounts in the microbiology laboratory marketplace, including clinical, pharma, veterinary, food/beverage, and environmental labs. The FAS will leverage their microbiology expertise to work with customers on installations, applications training, instrument demos, and hardware or software troubleshooting. The FAS will be based in the Bay Area, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, or near a major airport within the territory and will travel to customer sites frequently and as required.

About the Candidate Profile

BS, MS, or PhD degree in Microbiology or similar.2+ years of hands-on experience in a microbiology lab.First-hand knowledge of one of the following microbiology disciplines: clinical, food, pharma, environmental, or veterinary microbiology laboratory.Customer-oriented with good communication skills, ability to teach efficiently, and detail oriented for troubleshooting and trainings.Ability to effectively communicate and train others on technical workflows.Provide superior customer service with timely, accurate, and clear responses to customers' needs.Ability to present company products and services to laboratory personnel.Ability to work with internal partners (sales, service, support, marketing) to provide outstanding customer service and product satisfaction.Strong verbal, written, and technical presentation skills.Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deliverables.Strong knowledge of microbiology coupled with an energetic personality and strong customer focus. Ability to travel up to 3-4 days per week as required. Travel schedule will vary and will depend on sales activities and instrument annual goals. Each customer training will require up to 2-3 days to complete.
