Duties
  • The incumbent applies knowledge of statistical theory in the evaluation and selection of statistical techniques of measurement.
  • Supports the rigorous statistical analyses required to construct and stratify sampling frames, calculate sample allocations.

  • Prepares documentation of procedures, findings, and problems encountered with recommendations.
  • Prepares data, documentation and/or reports for public release.

      B.Specialized Experience:

      GS-09 Specialized Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as follows:

      1. Experience preparing structured or unstructured data for statistical analysis
      2. Experience ensuring that analysis data pass agency-adopted standards of data quality
      3. Experience assisting senior statisticians in the sample design of agency-sponsored surveys, from frame construction to sample selection
      4. Experience applying standard methods in statistical analysis and modeling using applications such as R, SAS, etc.
      5. Experience producing reports and other information products that accurately present outcomes from survey data or statistical models

      OR

      Two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree directly related to the position.

      OR

      Have a combination of education and experience.

      PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
