General Summary

The School of Technology & Professional Services Mgmt is accepting applications for a part-time lecturer to teach courses in the Paralegal Program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for assigned courses. Typically, two hybrid legal research, writing, and analysis courses during fall semester, and one hybrid legal research, writing, and analysis course during winter semester.
Maintain a positive learning environment
Prepare and submit syllabi, course materials, assignments, and assessments, as requested by Paralegal Program Coordinator
Consider learning differences when designing and implementing learning activities
Employ appropriate assessment tools to measure student performance
Use technology effectively to achieve course goals and objectives
Available for student meetings outside of assigned classes
Prepare and submit attendance records, grades, and other required documentation consistent with Eastern Michigan University schedules
Attend periodic meetings with Paralegal Program Coordinator and Paralegal Program faculty
Possess a commitment to the education of paralegal students and the utilization of paralegal services
Possess a commitment to continued professional growth by participating in activities designed to improve teaching effectiveness
Perform related departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:

J.D.
Attorney in Good Standing of a state bar
Four years legal work experience
Excellent writing, research, and analysis, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
